I get IP and connection with other open unlocked networks, but not our open network. My mac is The other computers get I get that too but only on the other networks. I can't connect directly via cables either.

I don't know why this suddenly started happening, never an issue previous. You might want to look up your router model and estimate how many devices are connected.

Don't forget smartphones, tablets, "smart devices", TVs, etc. If this is a small office with DIY tech, I would definitely suspect this. If you are in a bigger company with real IT staff, probably not. Similarly your network may have run out of IP addresses to assign. How you check and configure this depends on your network so I won't speculate further.

Also remember to hit the "Apply" button on Mac's Network preferences pane. It is oddly modal and sometimes it waits for you to hit Apply even though it appears your changes have already been made. Agree on the Apply, have been caught out a few times there. Thanks for the thorough explanations.
